Hydrogen peroxide is your best bet to get out a blood stain. Try to get as much blood off surface of carpet as you can before putting hydrogen Peroxide on stain. You can use warm water and a little "dawn" soap (any soft soap/detergent will work).

You then will put hydrogen peroxide directly on to stain. The stain will immediately foam when it contacts the blood (this is normal). After the hydrogen peroxide is applied to stain, dab the hydrogen peroxide with clean, dry, towels to dry the carpet. That is it!

This should do the trick! Repeat if necessary!
